The Stories That Shape Us

Learning to Read the Bible: Reading the Bible isn’t easy. But neither are the most important and meaningful things in life. Relationships, our well-being, making a positive impact—they all take work! As we learn how to read the Bible, it doesn’t necessarily get easier, but we can get better at it. In this extended series, we will learn how to read the Bible with the help of amazing free resources from the BibleProject.

Scripture: Deuteronomy 4:9-14
1 Timothy 4:13

Sermon Description: The stories around us shape us. They shape our identity, worldview, what we think is possible, and the ways in which we do and don’t respond – in both word and deed. Though admittedly hard to read at times, we believe the Bible to be the story that most truthfully and authentically represents reality. But the way in which we engage the Bible often limits the story’s ability to shape us the way it was made to.
