Helping You Take
Your Next Faithful Step

Lakeside United Methodist Church exists to call ourselves and our community to know, love, and trust Jesus more. We do this by helping one another take our next faithful step.

Sometimes that is a small step, and sometimes it is a leap of faith! Wherever you are in your journey, we are here to walk with you.

We’re Glad to Meet You!

We know that checking out a new church isn’t easy, no matter how much experience you have (or don’t have) with religion. So, thank you for stopping by!

Ways To Get Involved

Worship

Worship is about expressing our love and gratitude to God. We do this as individuals and together as a community. The primary way we worship is through our weekly worship services.

Grow

Coming to faith in Jesus is a HUGE step—but it’s not the end of the journey! There are always ways we can learn and grow in our faith. And joining a Life Group is a great way to get started.

Serve

Jesus said that the two greatest commandments are to love God and love our neighbor. Whether it is hands-on projects or collections to meet needs, we always have ways to serve.

Celebrate

The Bible calls us to rejoice always, and we take that as seriously as every other command! Having fun together not only honors God, but it is a great way to connect with others.

Common Questions

What happens during a typical worship service?

Our services include live music, prayer, the reading of Scripture, communion, and a sermon from our pastor.

What is offered for my children?

We have classes on Sundays for children in Pre-K through 5th grade. We also have a nursery available for children 0-2 years.

Your little ones are also always welcome to join you in worship! Just outside of the sanctuary is our “Family Room” with full view and audio of the service if your little one needs to get the wiggles out.

We also have events throughout the year outside of Sunday morning. For more details, contact our Children & Young Families Director, Dana Morse, at dmorse@lakesideumc.net

What should I wear?

Wear whatever makes you most comfortable! While some do choose to dress up for church, we do not have a dress code.

And if you’re joining us online, the platforms we use to stream worship do not include the use of any cameras on your computer, tablet, or mobile device, so we can’t see you. But, you are encouraged to participate in the service by interaction in the comments section of the Facebook Live Video during worship.

May I participate in communion?

Yes! Those who join us in person will have the opportunity to receive communion during both services every week.

We practice communion by “intinction,” which is a fancy way of saying you will be given a piece of bread that you can dip into the cup of grape juice if you wish. Our communion servers all use hand sanitizer before touching the communion elements.

In the United Methodist Church, we practice an “open table” which means you do not need to be a member of Lakeside (or any church) to participate! We simply ask that you come wanting to know, love, and trust Jesus more.

Will there be an offering collected?

The ministry of our church depends on your generosity. You can give in person, by mail, or online. To learn about how to give, including making an online donation, by clicking here.

Do you have a youth program?

Yes! We have small group gatherings for both Middle School and High School students throughout the school year.

For more details, contact our Youth & Family Ministry Director, Wendy Votino, at wvotino@lakesideumc.net

Interested in Lakeside Preschool?

We have an incredible team of teachers and staff who are here for you. We are a VPK provider and serve children ages 18 months to 5 years.
