What to Expect

What will happen during the service?

Our 4:00pm and 6:00pm services will be in our sanctuary, with the 6:00pm service also streaming live on our website. The 7:30pm service will be outside under the lights in our courtyard.

All of the services feature readings of the Christmas story from the Bible, the singing of familiar Christmas carols, a short message by our pastor and the lighting of candles.

Bringing children?

Children are always welcome at Lakeside United Methodist Church. We make it our mission to provide a safe, fun, and enriching experience whether they are with you in a worship service or with our childcare staff.

Our 4:00pm Christmas Eve service is geared toward families with younger children, and will feature a live nativity starring any children who want to participate!

Childcare for children aged 2-years-old and younger will be available during our 4:00pm and 6:00pm Christmas Eve services. To securely register and drop off your child, please visit the Children’s Check-In Desk in our lobby when you arrive.

Childcare will not be offered during the 7:30pm service. Your little ones are welcome to join you in worship.

Will there be an online option?

Yes! We will be streaming the 6:00pm Christmas Eve service live on our Facebook Page and on our website.

May I take communion?

Yes! The United Methodist Church offers an open table, meaning you do not need to be a member of our church or any church to take communion.

What should I wear?

Many people choose to dress up for Christmas Eve services, however we do not have a dress code.

Will there be an offering collected?

Yes, an offering will be collected if you would like to give in person, however no one is obligated to give. If you wish to give electronically, click here.

Do I need to reserve my seats?

No, you do not need to reserve your seats. However, we would appreciate it if you would use the link below to let us know how many people you’re bringing with you on Christmas Eve. This will help us best prepare to welcome you and all who come to celebrate!

When you arrive, please look for our parking attendants who will help direct you to an open parking place.

Covered drop off and special needs parking is available. Please notify a parking attendant if you need assistance.
